Africa and the World:
The high crude oil price and weakening US$ are starting to impact African economies. SABMiller has suffered a setback in China after its plans to buy a stake in the country’s eighth-biggest brewer, Kingway Brewery Holdings, were rejected by the controlling shareholders. Kenya has licensed HSBC to open a representative office. Cameroon has bought French bank Credit Agricole's stake in Societe Camerounaise des Banques. The IMF kept its 2011 GDP growth forecast for sub-Saharan Africa at 5.5%.
