Drastic new legislation and more resources are to be put into combating crime, said Dr Matthews Phosa, new treasurer general of the ANC, speaking at the launch of the first South African “ Israel Hi-Tech Co-operation Forum. The theme of the event was Fifa 2010 and beyond. The forum was facilitated by the South African Israel Chamber of Commerce (SAICC), the Israel Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour, the Embassy of South Africa in Israel, the Israel Export and International Co-operation Institute and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
